Commercial Drain Cleaning in Oklahoma City, OK

Commercial drain cleaning in Oklahoma City is about keeping your doors open. A clogged kitchen line, a backed-up floor drain or a main sewer stoppage can shut down a restaurant or close a restroom wing until it is cleared. We clear the line, jet grease and buildup out of the pipe, and camera it so you know whether it will happen again. We answer 24/7.

What's included in our commercial drain cleaning in Oklahoma City

Commercial drains work harder than household drains. More people, more fixtures and, in food service, a steady load of grease. Our commercial drain cleaning covers every part of the system:

  • Kitchen lines. Three-compartment sinks, prep sinks, dish machines and mop sinks, cleared and scoured.
  • Floor drains and trench drains. Cleared of grease, food solids and grit, with trap seals checked.
  • Restroom groups. Toilets, urinals and lavatory lines in offices, schools, churches and retail.
  • Main building drains and sewer lines. Stoppages cleared from cleanouts with large-diameter cables and jetting.
  • Camera inspection. A sewer camera inspection shows whether a stoppage was a one-time clog or a broken, sagging or grease-choked pipe.
  • Written findings. What we cleared, what we saw and what we recommend, for your records or your landlord.

Signs your building needs commercial drain cleaning

  • Floor drains that pool water or push water back up during dish washing
  • Slow sinks across the kitchen, not just one
  • Sewer odor near floor drains, restrooms or the grease interceptor
  • Toilets or urinals that back up when several are used at once
  • Water backing up at the lowest drain in the building
  • Grease or debris visible at a cleanout or sample well

Grease is the big one. The U.S. EPA reports that grease from restaurants, homes and industrial sources is the most common cause of reported sewer blockages, at 47 percent, because it solidifies and chokes the pipe.

Restaurant Grease Line Cleaning & Hydro Jetting

Snaking a grease line pokes a hole through the clog and leaves most of the grease on the pipe wall, so the line closes again quickly. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water through a nozzle that scours the full pipe diameter, washing the grease, scale and food solids out toward the interceptor and the sewer.

For restaurant grease lines, we usually:

  • Jet the branch lines from the sinks, dish machine and floor drains into the grease interceptor
  • Jet the outlet line from the interceptor to the building sewer
  • Camera the cleaned lines and note any sags where grease will collect again
  • Coordinate timing with your permitted grease hauler so the interceptor is pumped right after jetting

The plumbing code adopted in Oklahoma requires drain pipe upstream of a grease interceptor to slope at least 1/4 inch per foot, twice the usual minimum for 3- to 6-inch pipe. A line with less fall than that will keep collecting grease no matter how often it is cleaned, and the camera shows it.

Grease interceptor rules for Oklahoma City food service

Oklahoma City treats grease seriously, because the City says fats, oils and grease build up in private pipes and City mains and can back sewage into homes and businesses. For a restaurant, the City warns that a backup can mean several days of closure. The rules that matter most:

  • The code requires a grease interceptor or automatic grease removal device on grease-laden fixtures in restaurants, hotel kitchens, hospitals, school kitchens, bars, cafeterias and clubs.
  • A food waste disposer must not discharge to a grease interceptor.
  • Oklahoma City's amendments set a 1,000-gallon minimum for gravity grease interceptors and require a sample well downstream.
  • Private service lines from grease and waste traps need a wastewater discharge permit from the City's Wastewater Quality division.
  • Grease traps must be pumped out completely, and only by City-permitted transporters.
  • Enzymes, bacteria and other bio-remediation products are prohibited without the City's prior approval.

Our commercial drain cleaning process

  1. Triage. On an emergency call, we restore the fixtures you need most to stay open.
  2. Find the stoppage. We work from the nearest cleanout and pinpoint where the line is blocked.
  3. Clear and jet. Cables open the line, and jetting scours it to full diameter.
  4. Camera the line. We record the cleaned pipe and note sags, breaks and heavy buildup.
  5. Report. You get written findings with recommendations and any repair options.
  6. Set a schedule. If the line loads up fast, we suggest a cleaning interval based on what we saw.

What affects the cost of commercial drain cleaning

We price the actual job after we see the system. The main factors:

  • Number and length of lines. A single restroom group is a short job. A full kitchen and building drain take longer.
  • Access. Good cleanouts speed the work. Roof vents or pulled fixtures slow it down.
  • Grease load. Heavily packed lines need more jetting passes.
  • Timing. After-hours scheduling around your business is available.
  • Repairs found. Broken or sagging pipe is priced separately.

Keeping commercial drains clear between visits

The cheapest stoppage is the one that never happens. Scheduled jetting, staff habits and a regular camera check keep most kitchens running between visits. We can fold drain cleaning into a broader commercial plumbing maintenance plan that also covers restrooms, water heaters and backflow test dates. To learn who you are working with, meet our team.

Why Oklahoma City chooses us for commercial drain cleaning

24/7

Cleaning on your schedule

A commercial kitchen cannot shut down for a plumber at noon on a Friday. We answer 24/7 and can schedule drain cleaning and jetting before opening, after closing or overnight, so staff walk into working drains. When a stoppage hits during service, we focus on getting the critical sinks, floor drains and restrooms working first, then finish the full cleaning when it will not disrupt customers.

Licensed

Licensed for commercial plumbing

Commercial drains bring larger pipe, grease interceptors, longer runs and code rules that homes do not have. Our team has more than 40 years of plumbing experience behind it, and our plumbers are licensed and insured. When cleaning reveals a broken line, a missing cleanout or an interceptor problem, the same licensed team can make the repair and handle the permit instead of handing you off to another company.

What our customers say

These guys were great! A breath of fresh air from the usual contractor/service. They cared about fixing the problem not how much they can charge. I had a same day service need, leak in between floors, the day before a trip. They came out same day and presented multiple solutions as well as keen explanations.

Commercial Drain Cleaning questions, answered

How often should a restaurant have its grease lines jetted?

It depends on the menu, the volume and how well grease is kept out of the drains. Fryers and wok stations load lines faster than a coffee shop does. We set a schedule from what the first camera inspection shows and adjust it after the next cleaning. Lines between the kitchen fixtures and the grease interceptor usually need attention most.

Do you pump grease traps and interceptors?

Pumping is a separate service. Oklahoma City requires food service businesses to use only City-permitted transporters to clean out and haul grease trap and interceptor waste, and traps must be pumped out completely. We clean and jet the lines leading into and out of the interceptor, and we can time our visit with your hauler's so both happen together.

Can we use enzymes or bacteria to keep grease lines clear?

Not without approval. Oklahoma City prohibits enzymes, bacteria and other bio-remediation products in grease traps and interceptors unless the City approves them in advance. The City warns that these products can break grease into fatty acids that re-form downstream and block sewer lines. Mechanical cleaning, jetting and good kitchen habits are the reliable route.

Will hydro jetting damage our pipes?

Not when it is done with the right nozzle and pressure for the pipe. We camera the line first and match the jetting setup to the material and condition, whether that is newer plastic or older cast iron. If the camera shows a cracked or badly corroded section, we adjust the approach or recommend a repair instead of pushing through it.

What should restaurant staff do to keep drains clear?

Oklahoma City's guidance for restaurants is simple: pour oil and grease into a container, scrape food scraps into the trash, wipe grease from cookware before washing, and use catch baskets in sinks and screens on floor drains. The City also notes that running a garbage disposal does not keep grease out of the drain. Those habits stretch the time between cleanings.
